A chance encounter during a coming-of-age summer brings teenagers Michelle Jensen and Jason Means together. Meeting on a camping trip, they seem to come from different worlds. Michelle has a stable, church-going family, while Jason has a more troubled background. But both are hoping to walk in the other's shoes. It's a summer of first love, exploration, and heartbreak--only to end in a terrible, senseless murder on a dark Iowa road.
