Simon confesses his love for Clary. At Max’s rune party Maryse attempts to kill Jace with an axe. Magnus determines that there is a warlock at the party messing with their minds. Clary confronts Alec about killing her mother, which drives him to the roof ledge. Magnus arrives in time with his spellbook and saves him. He determines that Iris is in the loft disguised as a red cat. They face off until Magnus captures her and sends her to Idris. But first, she pulls the blood oath that she has with Clary and tells her to find Madzie.
