D-Day to Ve Day
Nonfiction • TV-14 • Directed by: World War II: The Epic Saga • 58 minutes
As World War II progressed, it would be fair to say that Hitler and his unsuspecting army were extremely unprepared for the speed with which the Allied Forces advanced into France after the memorable landings that took place on the coast of Normandy on the 6th of June, 1944. Many people mark this point as being the beginning of the end of World War II, and the successful completion of Operation Overlord, better known as D-Day, turned the tide for both sides, pushing Adolf Hitler and his Nazi army of occupation into a defensive position, while the Allies quite literally went on the attack.
